Karen Street is one of the UK’s most well known and respected accordionists and saxophonists, being highly regarded as a composer and performer for both instruments.

She studied in the classical and jazz traditions and is now a highly accomplished and experienced musician. Her passion has always been to challenge people’s preconceptions of the much maligned accordion. To this end she performs as a soloist, in a duo with saxophonist Andy Tweed and with her own jazz quartet. The music she plays displays her formidable talents as a performer, composer and arranger.

Andy Tweed’s versatility and skill as a saxophonist means he is perfectly suited as the other half of this duo. Although his favoured saxophone is the Tenor, he also sounds equally at home on the Soprano, Alto and Baritone. Andy is very highly regarded as a teacher, currently giving tuition at the internationally renowned music specialist Wells Cathedral School and he is a visiting tutor at Birmingham Conservatoire.
